You will have a broad price range from about $225-$250 for junior colorist going up as the colorist becomes more senior.Īs a professional here I have to say that you are better off going to someone who specializes, a stylist for the cut a colorist for the color. In each of these salons you will find a large group of colorists to pick from(except maybe Fekaii,I think his new salon is smaller) There is also Louis Lacari on 54th and 5th on the 15th and 16th floors on the Takashimaya building. Oscar has a very large salon on 65th and Madison above la Galoue(sic?) This is certainly one of the top salons in the city, really beautiful with a large color staff.įredrick Fekkai in Bendels, or Oscar Blandi(pronounced Blondie) Without know how much someone wants to spend it's a little hard. in the city is alot like someone asking for a restuarant suggestion. I am a haircolorist here in the city so I will try to give you some good suggestions, eliminating myself from the equation since I don't think it's appropriate here.įirst, hair color cut ect. Not sure about prices (I usually get a couple of services when I go so I'm not sure of the itemization of the color work). I have always been happy with Vicki's color work. I am a natural brunette who has gone from brown to red to blonde to highlights and lowlights. ![]() Granted I think anyone looking to do anything new with their hair with a new stylist should spend a few appointments with a hairstylist before commiting to a color change, so that you know you like them (and that they listen to you and ask the right questions) and then they also get a sense of the texture and strength and condition of your hair before doing anything drastic. But I would start out with Vicki if you can get an appointment with her and if not her then Victoria. I highly recommend the salon owner Vicki (not to be confused with Victoria-who is actually very good as well). ![]() I have been going to Gemini Salon in the West Village for close to 10 years and have had both color and straightening done there.
